Mia's Bible

Mia was presented on March 6, 2009 with her Bible by Dr. Sisson. He had been ill but came to chapel to present the Bibles. She passed pg. 100 in her speedy reader and now is working on trying to finish the book before graduation. She is doing a great job with it. As of today, she is on pg. 120. I am so proud of her hard work.

New Motorcyle

This is my hubby's finished product of the bike he's been working on all winter long.
He painted the bike a nice Teal blue, polished the crome on the bike and changed almost every gasket, plug, filter that could be changed. Changed the handle bars, bought new mirrors, changed the hand grips and bought bike bags for it also. He's very proud of his bike and I am proud of him and his hard work.

Time goes by fast.

Has it been 2 wks since I last posted? Time goes by fast and I didn't even realize it. All has been well with us.
Mia has finally passed pg. 100 of her speedy reader and will be getting her bible in chapel on Friday 3-6-09. I will be sure and post pics afterward.
Alana is getting smarter, yes I know she's my girl but she is. She is learning alot from her sister and at the daycare. She actually sings whole songs now not just a portion of it.
Lydia is talking alot clearer now and loves following her sister around and copying them. She is such a cuttie pie.
As for Brian, he finally finished his bike. I'm going to take pics of it later today and post another day. It looks like a whole new bike. I am proud of him.

Hope you all have a great day.

Salon Day Pics.

Here are the pics I kept forgetting to post. For Mia's Birthday I took them all to the Salon for a hair cut. My friend and her mom have one made really nice in their basement. They didn't like it at first but than later they got used to it.

All over

The wedding is finally over and all the work is done. Here are some of the pics I took.

This one was immediately after the wedding. Letting everybody out of the auditorium.

Mia, the flower girl.

The brides maids having a little laugh.

The lovely couple.

As the brides personal attendant, I had to help her with the restroom thing. Could you believe she forgot to go before putting her dress on (and the back of the dress was a corsett, not very easy to put on). I could not pass on this picture.

Busy weekend

Well, I keep forgetting to post because I have some pictures to go along with the post. Since I keep forgetting to download my pictures to my computer I decided to post and than later show the pics.

Well, we'll begin with Saturday the 7th; We had breakfast with the kids and then since the weather was so nice the kids wanted to play outside. Off we went to play in the nice muddy outdoors and took the dogs for a walk. We ate lunch and then got re-dressed (took all the muddy clothes off) and took off to the hair salon. All three girls got a hair cut. (I'll post pics later). After that we went to grandma & grandpa elliott's house and we all went out to dinner for Mia's birthday. By the time we got home, it was 8pm. & the girls went to bed.

On Sunday (Mia's birthday) we went to church, of course, in the morning and took Mia to eat at Red Robin with another couple friend of ours. She enjoyed them singing to her and her free ice-cream sundae. When we got home it was nap time, we knew they would be tired. After nap they got up and we started moving Mia into her new room. She officially has her own room now. She loves it, and it makes her feel all grown up.

It might take a few days for me to post the pics I have since I still have to finish the boquets for the wedding this Saturday. Off I go now. Hope you all have a great day.

Oh the planning!

It is 2 days till Mia's 6th birthday and wondering what to get her. We are giving her, her own room on Sunday night. We are waiting till then because this is the last Saturday the my future brother-in-law will be staying with us. So after church on Sunday morning we will take her out to eat and than move all her stuff over to her new room.

To continue on the planning, my sister-in-law gets married on Valentine's day and I'm helping her with alot of stuff for the wedding. I'm going over tonight to help her with make-up choices and than we have to finish the bouquets. I'll have to take pictures of the finished products. I think they are very pretty and that's not just because I'm making them. LOL.

It's supposed to get up into the 30's near 40's today. YEAH!!!!! I guess living in Northwest IN I should not be surprised, I'm just ready for it to be over. It has been a very cold winter in a long time.

Well, until next week. Have a great weekend.

Sick. sick, sick

All of us are sick. I had to keep Lydia home from church yesterday because she was throwing up and had a fever. Alana, Mia & I have sore throats and a slight cough. Brian is trying to stay away from us so he doesn't catch it. What a weekend it has been. Lets hope and pray that the daycare doesn't call me today to pick up the kids cause they were sick. I know, I probably shouldn't have taken her, but I have to work and she was doing good this morning with no fever and she was eating too.

Any way, the weather is getting slightly better. It is in the 20's today. Although we are supposed to get a little lake effect snow today, it's not enough to close school down. Nothing closes anything around here. LOL.

Reading is fun.

Mia passed seven pages in her speedy reader last night.
She is now on page 60. I had to bribe her with Wendy's for dinner but she did it and it only took just over 1/2 hour.
I'm so proud of her. It takes alot for me to get her to do her speedy reader at home.

This is a picture of Mia's first day of school. Isn't she cute. lol.

Fun in snow!

For those of you who don't know, their has been alot of snow in Northwest Indiana.
I took some pictures of our family snow fun on Jan 17th. The girls are in snow suites. We had alot of fun.

The girls are burying their dad in the snow (above), because he burried Mia first (below).

Museum trip 12-31-08

This post is to see how pics turn out on my post. LOL.

Anyway, We took the kids to the Museum of Science and Industry on New Years Eve (free day) and we had a good time. We only spent 5.oo for coat holding and later left to eat lunch out side of the Museum (cheaper that way).

Cold Weather!

Boy is it cold today. It's the first day since 1996 that it will be below zero all day long. Today I am so thankful for the warm house, car, coats, boots, and anything that will keep me from freezing.

I want to post some pics on here soon but I'm still new at this blogging thing. So far I'm enjoying it. I will do a practice blog for pics and later add some new pics if I can.

Weekends over.

This past weekend was a great weekend. We had alot of snow on Friday night and Saturday morning. I put the girls snow suites on and we headed out doors. Even daddy (Brian) joined us. We tried to make a snow man but the snow was still too soft. We still had a good time by making snow angels and throwing snowballs. Brian made snowballs for the girls and they all ganged up on me and threw them at me. No fair I say but what can I do but run. LOL.

On a sad note. We found out last week that starting this week Brian's job is cutting hours and they will no longer be working on Friday's for who knows how long. We are going to be cutting and trimming in so many areas that I can't even imagine. I have been trying to find a part time job for either my hubby or me in the evenings. Every little bit will help.

Just for fun.

I don't really blog but since everyone else is doing it, I guess I'd try it. Things in this part of the woods is good.
Brian has been using these winter months to fix and paint his motor-cycle. A friend of ours has a shop that he's been able to use. I'm happy for him. He really likes his bike and that's something special for him.

Mia is in school and on page 35 of her speedy-reader. Sometimes she doesn't want to read and other times it's like can I time you know that you are reading. LOL. She loves to sing. I try to teach her the right keys and how to sing but she doesn't want to hear it. She's always singing.

Alana is learning so much at the daycare. She comes home sayin all kinds of things. Like yesterday I found a New Testament on the floor and I told her "Here's your Bible" and then she started saying things like "The Bible is the word of God and every word is true" I love that.

Lydia is growing and a joy to have around. She loves to copy her big sisters. What am I in for.

I better get going. It's snowing out and I have to go pick Mia up from school. I don't want to rush.
